Precision CNC machined prototypes manufactured from production materials allow a client to validate a design ahead of commissioning tooling. Designs can be machined out of a wide range of metal and plastic materials. Quantities vary from one offs to short run production which can be used as pilot runs or to bridge the production time gap.
Form Models
Form studies or block models are typically used by industrial designers to study the physical shape previously only defined in a virtual 3D CAD environment. Soft, easy to machine materials such as plastic and REN modelling board are common and help with the ergonomic assessment of a product form.
Functional Prototypes
Functional prototypes are machined from production materials and allow a client to test designs and mechanisms ahead of production. Once the raw materials are machined they can be finished to match end product specifications such as sand blasted, polished, plated or anodised.
Presentation Models with High Quality Decorative Finishes
These prototypes will certainly capture the spotlight as near to production quality is achievable. They’ll help you develop, sell and launch a yet-to-be-tooled product. Surface specifications such as chrome, rubberised finishes, laser etching, logo printing and LCD screens are realisable.
Full production specifications are referenced such as PMS colour, texture finishes, materials, graphic specifications, keypad graphics and action. LED’s can be wired to run off batteries and the assembly is made to appear fully operational.
